Charlie and Debra returned to Augusta in April of 2002, establishing Shaw's Sunshine Gardens. This marked a significant change in lifestyle for the two, with Charlie undertaking the role of "daylily farmer" after leaving his career as a Board Certified Healthcare Executive. The couple established the garden, which has since become a beloved destination in their community.
