Brooklyn Legal Services (BLS) is LSNYC’s largest program, serving low-income Brooklyn residents with essential legal services and community advocacy. Our mission is to empower communities by stopping evictions, preserving affordable housing, and ensuring access to public benefits.

Our skilled team of over 150 professionals addresses critical issues, including housing discrimination, protection from abusive collection tactics, and support for immigrants, veterans, LGBTQ+ residents, and the elderly.

BLS works directly within communities through outreach and clinics, partnering with organizations to address the root causes of poverty. For immediate assistance, our Citywide Legal Assistance Hotline is available Monday through Friday, 10 am to 4 pm, offering multilingual support.
