The Social Development Centre believes that efforts to reform the shelter system in Waterloo Region are positive steps towards creating a more inclusive and equitable environment for all. The current structure of A Better Tent City is being called into question by SDC as it would limit the program's potential to provide a safe and supportive space for vulnerable individuals. By re-engaging residents and co-founder Nadine Green in decision-making, the Centre hopes to build on the momentum of A Better Tent City and create a more empowering experience for those who need it most.
